Him by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy
^^^me this entire book
It’s been awhile since I’ve read a good M/M romance and boy did this book deliver!
Is this book perfect? No. Do I give a shit? Not at all.
Him is the story of Jamie and Wes. The two have been summer camp best friends ever since they were 13. They were inseparable, always playing hockey together and playing pranks. The last summer they have at camp changes everything, and Wes completely cuts off Jamie leaving Jamie hurt and wondering what he had done.
Fast forward four years later and both are on their college hockey teams and competing in the same tournament. For Wes seeing Jamie stirs up old feelings he had for his best friend. Spur of the moment he accepts a job coaching at his old summer camp for 6 weeks, alongside Jamie. The two mend their bridges, but as time goes by Wes knows his feelings for his old friend haven’t gone away. But Jamie is straight….or is he?
This was the ultimate guilty pleasure read. I love GFY romances and unrequited love stories so this fit my tastes perfectly. I loved both of these guys. Cocky, arrogant and yet vulnerable Wes. California golden boy Jamie. Both were suited perfectly to each other and made the best couple.
An emotional rollercoaster I didn’t want to get off of, I read this straight through in a day. Although I ignored a friends advice to not read this in public and ended up blushing and having to put the kindle away until I got home because there are some steamy scenes in this book y’all. So prepare yourselves!
Recommended for fans of the Try series by Ella Frank, M/M romance readers, and Elle Kennedy fans. Also I’ve never read anything by Sarina Bowen until this book and I will have to remedy that VERY soon.
